Register now! Experience Maritime at Seattle Maritime Academy, July 9th-12th, 2019
Learn all about Maritime from ocean literacy, ocean lab exercises, shipboard operations, watch standing, marine safety, survival at sea, damage control, line handling, marine mechanics, maritime career pathway and training opportunities! All High School students invited to register, and cost is FREE! Register NOW First come, first serve!

Register now! Renton Police Teen Academy, July 15th-19th, 2019
Learn about the requirements to become a law enforcement officer. Explore Police divisions, evidence procedures, spend a day on the water with local marine patrol units, and tour the Guardian One Helicopter with King County's Sheriff's Office! High School students from the Renton School District are welcome to apply and attend!

Students will meet at Renton High School, 400 South 2nd Street in Renton July 15th-19th. The program is from 8:30am-12:30. Students will be provided transportation to offsite tours.

Register now! Washington Business Week at Renton Technical College, August 12th-16th, 2019
Washington Business Week is hosting a summer program at RTC. Students will work as teams, explore careers, experience university life, learn to network, and more! Students will receive 2 College Credits, spend a week on the RTC campus, and have the chance to earn a scholarship. Students will work in teams to develop a world changing idea and present it to investors.

Register now. Financial Aid is available and you can apply for either a Merit-Based Scholarship or Need-Based Financial Assistance. Financial Aid Applications are due June 1st. For more information call 253-237-3545 or email.

The City of Renton and many other public sector employers such as the City of Issaquah, Seattle, Bellevue, Auburn & Tukwila, the WA State Department of Financial Institutions, Pierce County & Pierce County Library System, King County Fire District 20, Port of Seattle, Transportation Security Administration, Employment Securities Department, and the National Testing Network will be welcoming the public to come learn about career opportunities within each sector.

September 18, 2019, Money Maze Presentation for grades 9-12
Money Maze Presentation- finding money for college, is a workshop designed to address the major issues facing students and parents as they pursue all types of need and merit-based financial aid programs. 

All high school families and students are invited to attend the district’s annual Money Maze presentation September 18, 2019 at the Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center, at Renton High School, 400 South 2nd Street, Renton WA. Come early to get additional financial aid resources before the presentation begins. At the end of the presentation families have a chance to win prizes that will be raffled.

October 23, 2019, Annual RSD Post-Secondary Fair for grades 9-12
Come learn about post-secondary options such as the military, colleges, universities, trade schools, apprenticeships, and internship opportunities at the annual RSD Post-Secondary Fair. It is held at the Renton Pavilion Event Center, 233 Burnett Ave South, Renton WA 98057. There is two-hour free parking in the parking garage that is accessible from second street. The parking garage is called "Republic Parking."

An opportunity for seniors and their parents to receive assistance for completing financial aid (FAFSA/WASFA), college and/or scholarship applications. Young Executives of Color 2019-20 (YEOC)

YEOC is a free nine-month college pipeline program hosted by the UW Foster School of Business. Students attend sessions one Saturday every month on the UW Seattle campus. Saturday Sessions include college preparation, powerful mentorship, professional development and business lectures!

Application due by May 31! The application includes short essay responses so please allow plenty of time before the deadline.

The Aeronautical Science Pathway (ASP) : Aeronautical program information Night at May 30, 2019 

The Aeronautical Science Pathway (ASP) Program- Free after school program for Juniors & Seniors (Class of 2020 & 2021) who are interested in the aviation industry. Students may earn 3.0 high school credit and 30 college credit per year accepted by Greenriver College. Tuition is FREE for students who earn a B or higher. College and University Breakthrough, June 5, 2019 7pm
This event is free, however, registration is required. Featured colleges are Bowdoin College, Colorado College, Princeton University, and Washington University in St. Louis.

This event will be held at the Seattle Art Museum, Plestcheeff Auditorium 1300 1st Ave, Seattle WA 98101. Each college will introduce themselves and then afterwards families have the opportunity to visit with the college representative of their choice to learn more information.
