Albert Talley Sr. High School was established in 2012 as the Secondary Learning Center (SLC) to provide additional educational opportunities and pathways for students in the Renton School District. Today, we proudly serve students in grades 9–12 through multiple learning models designed to meet a wide range of academic, personal, and scheduling needs.

We often describe Talley High School as a "Land of Opportunity" because of our commitment to providing flexible, student-centered learning experiences. Students and families choose Talley for many reasons, including smaller class sizes, personalized support, flexible scheduling options, online learning opportunities, and credit recovery programs. As a true choice school, our students are here because they have selected a learning environment that best supports their goals, strengths, and future aspirations.

One of the defining characteristics of Talley High School is our ability to respond to individual student needs. We work diligently to ensure students have access to the courses they need for graduation when they need them—not months or semesters later. Through a variety of instructional models, we support students balancing academics with employment, family responsibilities, or unique learning preferences.

At Talley, learning extends beyond our students. Our dedicated staff continuously engages in professional growth and innovation to better serve our school community. We are committed to doing whatever it takes to help students achieve success in high school and prepare for life beyond graduation.

We also recognize that student success is strongest when schools and families work together. Our commitment to equity and access ensures that every student and family can connect with the supports, services, activities, and opportunities needed to thrive.
